The study aims to improve the existing framework of indicators
that incorporates the requirements of EC Directives (Habitats,
Birds, WFD), Sustainable Development strategies and predictions on
future requirements under Marine Spatial Planning and MSFD.
The study will identify key areas where there are gaps and where
further research is required to develop meaningful measures.
The study will ensure that the development of indicators proceeds
within a pragmatic and relevant framework and that further
scientific research on indicators is integrated with the policy
requirements.
