In this project we will investigate relationships between
acoustic backscatter, seabed physical properties and biotope
classes from REC data. The work will establish the potential of
current archived data to automatically predict the spatial
distribution of facies and biological attributes. Based on our
research we will make recommendations for the future collection and
analysis of MEPF backscatter imagery.
