This project will maximise the value of earlier ALSF investment in data acquisition by carrying out archaeological interpretation of geophysical datasets acquired by the BGS-led team for the Eastern English Channel Marine Habitat Mapping project (EECMHM - MEPF 04/01). The project will address the evidence for prehistoric landsurfaces and deposits (using sub-bottom and multibeam data sets) and wrecks of ships and aircraft (sidescan and multibeam).

The archaeological interpretation will bring the EECMHM datasets to the same level of multiple-usage being achieved for the South Coast and East Coast RECs. This levelling-up will also enable the EECMHM data to be fully integrated with the South Coast REC data, enabling the overarching synthesis of MALSF results in the English Channel as proposed by BGS.
