This is a continuation of work funded by ODPM, MIRO, The Crown
Estate, WAG and BMAPA.
Objectives
- Raise awareness of the marine environment through a programme
of outreach work in schools across South West England, designed to
fit in with the national curriculum
- Raise wide awareness of the integrated role of science,
industry and management in society's use of marine
resources.
- Disseminate information on the marine environment in a balanced
manner relative to the sustainable use and conservation of natural
resources.
- Build partnerships with other individuals, organisations and
other outreach programmes to ensure the continuation of marine
education and outreach in future years.
- Collect feedback from the contacts and events, learning from
the experience for future public awareness projects.
