New in year progress reports - December 2007
The first joint WIP meeting combining the marine project portfolios of MEPF and English Heritage was held on 3 & 4 October 2007. Presentations covered some 25 ALSF funded marine projects due to deliver by March 2008.

Two major Regional Environmental Characterisation Surveys are taking place this summer in the Outer Thames and Isle of Wight/South Coast regions. Further details can be found in the REC-Survey section of this site.
Lankelma Gardline have been appointed to conduct the broad scale Regional Environmental Characterisation study for the Thames region, and Gardline Geosurvey Limited have been appointed for the South Coast region.
Funding and delivery arrangements for the Marine ALSF for FY2007/08 have been confirmed. The MEPF has been allocated £2.5M and English Heritage have allocated £700k for marine projects from their total fund.
Further to the 2006 pre-budget report published on 6 December, Defra have confirmed that the total value of the Marine Environment Protection Fund for FY2007/08 will be 2.5M pounds
The closing date for the Projects Co-ordinator position has been extended to 12:00h on Monday 22nd January 2007. The interview date is still to be arranged.
